Got Questions? We’ve Been There!

If you’re wondering how this whole PickWheel thing works—or just need help deciding what’s for dinner—you’re totally in the right place. Spin for fun, spin for fairness… or when you and your friends can’t agree on the next movie. (Happens to all of us.) Below you’ll find the questions we get most (and a few oddballs), answered with as little tech jargon as possible, pinky swear.

So... is PickWheel actually free?

Yep, for real! No “but actually…” sneaky stuff. No plans, no locked features—just come spin your heart out. The only thing we charge is, well, nothing.

Do I really NOT need an account?

Nope, none. Not even a spam filter in sight. Just hit up PickWheel, add your stuff, and spin away—no logins, emails, or mysterious confirmations.

How does this “random picker wheel” magic work?

Alright, nerdy answer—there’s a seriously fancy random number generator running behind the scenes. Basically: you click, it spins, and nobody (not even us!) knows where it’ll land. No secret favorites, ever.

Can I add my own (weird) options to the wheel?

Oh, absolutely. Taco toppings, student names, reasons *not* to do chores—whatever. Change up the colors, play with the text, make your wheel match your vibe. If you can type it, you can spin it.

How many things can I cram onto the wheel?

Technically? A TON. But, heads up: once you get past 40 or 50, even your grandma’s glasses might not help. Keep it neat if you want to actually read those slices—unless you’re into pixel-hunting.

Can I save my perfectly-crafted wheel for another day?

For sure! One tap of the ‘Share’ button gives you a handy link. Bookmark it, share it around, or return when you’re feeling indecisive again. This magic works for our Name Picker and every other kind of wheel we’ve cooked up.

Can I share my wheel with friends or colleagues?

You bet! After building your wheel, just hit the "Share" button to generate a link. Send it to your friends, teammates, or that one person who always second-guesses the results—everyone will land on the exact same wheel.

Does PickWheel store my data or spy on my choices?

Nope. What you add to your wheel stays on your device unless you actually use the Share feature. We're not interested in what you spin—whether it's dinner ideas or embarrassing dares!

What happens if I close the page before spinning?

If you haven't hit Share or saved your link, any unsaved wheel is gone for good (sorry!). If you think you'll want your masterpiece later, save that special link.

Why isn't my wheel spinning/working right?

Technology… what can we say? Try refreshing your browser, double-check your internet, or switch devices. Still stuck? Contact us—we'll try our best to save the day.

Can I use emojis or special characters in my wheel options?

Go wild! Want to fill your wheel with 🐸🍕🦄? Or type in “Yes!!!” vs. “Nope.”? It should work just fine (and makes things more fun).

Is there a dark mode for PickWheel?

Right now, it's not built in (yet!). But a lot of folks have asked—so who knows, it might show up if you keep spinning and asking…

I typed “random picket wheel” or “spinny weel”—am I in the right place?

Yup, you made it! We've seen every typo in the book—whatever you call it, this is the spot for picking stuff by spinning a wheel. Welcome, fellow indecisive friend.

Can I use PickWheel on my smart TV or projector?

If you can open a browser, you can use PickWheel! We've seen folks spin wheels at events, in giant conference rooms, or even on their living room TV in front of an expectant (and hungry) family.

Does PickWheel support different languages?

Currently, it's mainly in English (but your wheel options can be in any language you want!). If you want full translations, let us know—it might land on our to-do list.

How random is “random”? (Is it really fair?)

Great question! Every spin uses a secure, built-in random number generator—no favorites, no hidden bias. We like our wheels fair and square (even when we wish it would land on pizza).

Teachers: How do you actually use PickWheel with students?

Oh, there's a million ways. A few ideas:

  • Randomly call on students (bye, favoritism!)
  • Group assignments with no side-eye from the class
  • Pick surprise topics for games, warmups, or projects
  • Turn *any* review session into a game show

Assign names, vocab, questions—if you can think it up, the wheel can spin it.

Does PickWheel work on my phone? Or my... giant monitor?

100%. Works on just about anything with a screen, from your phone to your tablet to that massive monitor in the conference room.

Can I use it for contests and prize draws?

Please do! Add names, spin, let fate (and some cool animation) pick the winner. Zero favoritism, everyone gets to see how random it is. For big events, try our Prize Wheel. Big energy guaranteed.
